ocean . nature . travel

"Marengo"

The canvas is alive with motion.

Towering waves crash with raw, thunderous force. The ocean here is a deep, steel blue — cold, untamed, and immense.

Foaming whitecaps surge toward the shore in rolling sets, each one exploding into a symphony of spray and salt.

My feet are buried ankle-deep in the shockingly icy water, which curls around my toes with every pulse of the tide.

It bites at the skin, but in a way that wakes every nerve, grounding me completely in the present.

The scent of salt is rich and sharp, and the roar of the surf drowns out everything else.

Here, nature is not gentle — it’s grand, untouchable, and alive.

"Lerderderg"

The evening sunset over Lerderderg Gorge in Victoria, seen through the jagged silhouettes of gum trees, is a quiet kind of awe — something ancient and unspoken.

The sky shifts into a deep, burning palette of red-orange, where molten amber bleeds into rusted crimson, streaked with lingering apricot gold. These colours stretch across the horizon like slow-moving fire, pooling in the folds of the gorge below. It’s a light that feels both fierce and fading — intense but softening with every passing minute.

The gum trees stand in stark contrast — dark and statuesque — their wiry branches tangled like ink drawings against the fire-glow sky. You can smell the dry eucalyptus in the cooling air, sharp and earthy, as the last heat of the day lifts from the rocks.

There’s a stillness, broken only by the faint rustle of leaves or the distant call of a magpie settling in. The gorge itself — ancient, carved, enduring — catches the light in dusky layers, its edges blushed with shadow and ember.

In that moment, everything feels suspended: time slows, colours deepen, and the land breathes under the watch of the falling sun.

"Onetangi"

When I traveled here to Onetangi, it was a last minute decision on my Uncle’s advice…

YOU MUST GO THERE, you will LOVE IT..!

I rushed to catch the last ferry from Auckland. I had no accommodation booked, traveling solo, and I was running out of battery.

By the skin of my teeth, I made it.

I booked an AirBnB up on a hill with breathtaking views over the warm and welcoming ocean.

I immediately booked a second night.

I was trying to take it all in, and I was filled with an uncontainable excitement!

As soon as I arrived, I ran down and went for a swim.

The gentle rhythm of the warm, crystal-clear water lapping softly against the shore felt like a soothing heartbeat, steady and comforting.

I saw a guy strolling towards the water, totally naked, totally carefree, enjoying this amazing place, I giggled to myself…

Above, the sky was a gentle canvas of grey clouds, with a hint of blue peeking through.

There was  a simple joy here, a quiet thrill in being present — in discovering a place I’ve never been to before, and letting myself just be, explore and enjoy.

No rush, no noise, just the calm, the waves, the sand, and the quiet beauty of an incredible place I must and will go back to.

"Turquoise Coast"

Bare feet press into sun-warmed sand.

The turquoise sea hums gently ahead.

Above, the sky stretches wide — blue, endless, and slow.

This painting captures that quiet, sunlit moment when everything softens — where time steps lighter, and the world speaks only in whispers of wind and sea.

Pelican Banks

This painting captures a serene moment drifting along the coastline of Fraser Island.

Calm, translucent waters shimmer in shades of aquamarine and soft turquoise, revealing sandy shallows beneath the surface.

The sky above stretches wide in a brilliant expanse of clear blue.

The light is warm and golden, the kind that makes everything feel slow and suspended in time.

There’s no rush here, only the gentle rhythm of water against the boat, the quiet hum of nature, and the deep, peaceful feeling of being exactly where you want to be.
